BAYFL, PIAA and NFHS
Game rules follow Berks Area Youth Football League (BAYFL) By Laws , Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Rules and Regulations. PIAA football rules, page 3, adopts the 2011 National Federation of High Schools Rule Book (NFHS) .
From our 2011 League Representative, here is the timing for the game clock at the youth level:
- Flags – Two 25 minute halves with a running clock. 10 minute half time
- Mighty Mite – Two 18 minute halves with a running clock. The last two minutes are regulation clock. (Specific info for stopping the clock for mighty mites is listed in the BAYFL Rules above on page 9, section 12. )
- Mites and Midgets- Four 8 minute regulation quarters.
